A corporate gala in Makati, 2019. Jayson was there for the networking. Kathryn was there for the open bar. A shared joke about the keynote speaker turned into hours of conversation and an exchange of business cards — which they both knew was just an excuse.
What started as formal dinners evolved into Sunday morning markets and late-night phone calls. They discovered they shared the same ambition, the same values, and the same terrible taste in karaoke songs.
